Cassie R. Smith, PLLC is a mental and behavioral health service based in western North Carolina. The mission of this organization is as follows:

“We are committed to providing quality, accessible, and affordable mental and behavioral health services to mountain folks and families to help support wellness and growth in our communities.”

All services provided by our organization are outpatient services. If we do not have services that meet your needs, our organization is happy to help connect you with other services in the area. Promoting healthy individuals promotes healthy communities.

Hours vary based on therapist availability.

Cassie R. Smith, MSW, LCSW (she/her)

A native of Cullowhee, NC, Cassie earned both her Bachelors and Master’s in Social Work at Western Carolina University. Her experience includes preschool and elementary-aged children, families, adolescents, and adults. She has earned this experience through work in community mental health through day treatment and residential programs.

Cassie has her Licensed Clinical Social Worker certification from the North Carolina Board and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Other certifications include: School Social Work , Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), Native American Health, and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

 

Brooklynn Ledford, MSW, LCSW-A (she/her)

A native and enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Brooklynn earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Western Carolina University and later earned her Masters degree in Social Work at the University of New England in Maine. Her experience includes working with children aged five to seventeen and their families. She has earned this experience through work in community mental health through child outpatient services and school based mental health services. Brooklynn has her Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate certification from the North Carolina Board. Areas of Specialization include: grounding, boundaries, mindfulness, depression, trauma, anxiety, coping skills, and PTSD. Brooklynn is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families. 

 

Marilyn S. Borom, MSW, LCSW-A (she/her)

After working in schools, community health organizations, and the child welfare system for twenty years, Marilyn earned her Masters degree in Social Work at Western Carolina University.  Marilyn's experience includes working with children ages 0-21 and their families, working with adult clients ages 21 - 80, and facilitating parenting classes and workshops. 

Marilyn has her Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate certification from the North Carolina Board.  Areas of specialization include:  anxiety, depression, PTSD, school behavioral issues, grief/loss, foster care/adoption/kinship care, caregiving, and attachment.
